This first round of grants for the 2024-2025 school year is filled with fantastic learning opportunities for our students and teachers. Aside from supplementary support for books, scientific calculators, classroom supplies, and other much needed resources that help our educators with their day-to-day, NKSF reviewed and approved funding for numerous projects this grant cycle, including;
Indoor farm stands, a mobile planetarium visit, salmon tanks, and a visit from the Burke Museum’s Burkemobile to give the kids a perspective on life, the cosmos, and its history
Much needed art supplies and new art clubs to support and encourage creativity
Educational outings to learn about symphony music and a trip to Olympia to tour the capitol and learn about our government;
Support for our teachers in their continued development to serve our kids to the best of their ability with conference and seminar attendances in the areas of mathematics, speech and language training, and youth psychology.
In all, NKSF agreed to fund our educators with $66,101 dollars this grant cycle.
